Bloggers all over the world have been blogging about the incident in Connecticut last Friday, the killing of 26 people. So, here goes one more on the subject.

In this blog, I would like to ask a few difficult and perhaps unpopular questions…

I have heard people ask, “How could a good God allow something like this to happen?” But, I would ask, why have we allowed God to be ousted from our schools, our government, our society, our personal lives, and even our churches in recent years? And, now that we have kicked Him out of everything in our country, why should He be obliged to answer our prayers and come to our rescue during this time of tragedy?

Others have asked, “Why do we have so much violence in the U.S.?” But, I would ask, why have we not stood against this violence on T.V., in movies, and in video games for so long? And, why have we parents allowed our children to watch it?

We have heard much about Adam’s evil acts, his mental disorder, his inability to negotiate socially, and more. But, I would inquire… Has anyone questioned what torment this young man endured as a result of his mental illness, leading up to this atrocity? Yes, I know, empathy for the perpetrator is not a popular thought right now, but have you seen Adam Lanza’s picture on national television? Is it a face of someone at peace? Do you see the fear and the terror? Do you see the cry for help?

Since the killings, I have heard people say they are performing acts of kindness for others. That is exemplary, however, the truth is, no amount of human effort can erase what was done in Newtown, Connecticut last Friday.

We all want to be saved from these atrocities, but there is only one who can save, He is Jesus. And I would ask, why not invite Him into your life during this Christmas season?
